Are you navigating the complexities of parenting adult children? As our children transition into adulthood, our roles evolve, and so does our approach to creating positive relationships. This 2-hour class is designed to help parents cultivate healthy, loving relationships with their adult children and their partners while establishing & honoring respectful boundaries and connecting on a deeper, soul level. Parenting is not for the faint of heart, and adult parenting is amazing… witnessing your children become adults, spouses, and parents of their own can be such a fulfilling, stressful, and challenging time. It can be a very difficult transition, for everyone involved. When to let go, when to step in, when to speak up, when to shut up. If you know, you know 🙂

In this workshop, we will dive in and explore:

  1. Understanding the concept of Overloving: Are you helping, hurting, or doing?
  2. Redefining the Parent-Child Relationship: Understand how to transition from a caregiving role to a supportive, respectful partnership grounded in unconditional love, acceptance, and connection.
  3. Setting & Honoring Healthy Boundaries: Learn the importance of boundaries in maintaining mutual respect and independence, and practical strategies to implement them without compromising your bond.
  4. Loving and Accepting Unconditionally: Embrace a mindset of unconditional love, recognizing and celebrating your adult children’s individuality, even when their choices differ from your own.
  5. Connecting with Their Soul: Discover ways to deepen your spiritual connection with your adult children, creating a relationship that transcends the physical and emotional realms. Learn how to trust their spirit when you are in fear of their choices.
  6. Effective Communication: Discover ways to communicate openly and effectively with your adult children, fostering understanding, empathy, and a deeper emotional and spiritual connection.
  7. Supporting Without Overstepping: Gain insights into how to provide support and guidance without infringing on their autonomy or making them feel controlled, while still being a source of love and support.
  8. Dealing with Conflicts: Equip yourself with tools to handle disagreements and conflicts constructively, promoting harmonious interactions and reinforcing the loving foundation of your relationship.
  9. Respecting Their Choices: Learn to respect and embrace your adult children’s decisions and lifestyles, acknowledging their right to chart their own path while offering your love and encouragement. This isn’t easy, AND it is VERY important.

My Personal Experience: As a parent of two adult sons and a daughter in love, I’ve experienced the joys and challenges that come with this stage of life. Navigating the transition from being the primary caregiver to a supportive parent required a HUGE shift in mindset and approach. Through lots of trial and error, I learned the importance of setting healthy boundaries while maintaining an open heart. I also learned, equally as important, how to honor their boundaries while maintaining an open heart. This WAS NOT easy. Embracing their individuality and respecting their choices, especially when they differed from my choices for them, has been very hard at times, and it has also strengthened our bond.

Connecting with their souls on a deeper spiritual level is what helped me get through some very hard times with my kids… a son going through addiction and another isolating made for heartache, fear, and lots of sleepless nights. The journey was one of the hardest I have walked… going from caretaker to letting go is hard. There is no magic pill, no exact way to let them go and still hold on, no right or wrong. Yet, trusting their spirit and recognizing that my fears were creating a very unhealthy dynamic in our relationship were key to making the changes necessary to create a relationship that I now feel is equal, loving, respectful, and fun! This newer connection has brought a profound sense of fulfillment, mutual respect, and understanding to our relationships. Am I perfect? No. We are always learning as the dynamics change. Now, I can communicate with honesty and love… and so can they. The healing that came from learning to stay focused on myself and get out of the way as a parent has been absolutely necessary and a win-win for us all.

Who Should Attend: This class is ideal if you are ready to make some changes, let go of control, and take ownership of some of the dynamics in your relationship. It’s for parents who know the struggles of opening their mouths and saying things that you later regret. It’s for parents who have a hard time knowing how to be a parent and a friend and need to change their perspective. It’s for those parents who wish to build and maintain a loving, balanced relationship with their adult children, creating mutual respect and connection and deepening their bond.

What to Expect: Through a blend of personal insights, practical tips, and interactive discussions, you’ll leave this class with a deeper understanding of how to nurture a positive, loving relationship with your adult children while respecting their independence and connecting with their soul. You will also learn how to create boundaries, enforce them, and honor your children at the same time. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their experiences and learn from others in similar situations.

Join us for a workshop dedicated to evolving your parenting approach to meet the needs of yourself and your adult children, creating a foundation for lasting, loving relationships built on acceptance, respect, and spiritual connection.
